Howard is the Chairman and CEO of The Principle 6 Cooperative: the first global cooperative of cooperatives. Principle 6 brings together global cooperatives to foster collaboration, strengthen operational efficiency, and expand cooperative sustainability through shared best practices.
The Cooperatives and Mutuals Leadership Circle
Howard is a member of the CM50, a group of 50 of the world’s most influential cooperative leaders in the world hosted by the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) to expand the cooperative and mutuals market share as part of the UN 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development. The CM50 CEOs will champion the cooperative and mutual business model on the global stage, showcasing its potential to accelerate on the SDGs, beginning at the Second UN World Summit of Social Development in Qatar in 2025.
The ICA Global Cooperative Conference, Delhi, India 2024
Howard presented as a keynote speaker, sharing his experience and knowledge on cooperatives to representatives from 75 countries. This conference ushered in 2025, the International Year of the Cooperative, with collaboration and shared experiences.
The Co-op 20: The G20
Howard Brodsky was the chairperson of the Co-op 20, formed by the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) and comprised of representatives of the G20 countries to raise the profile of cooperative businesses annually at the G20 Summit.

CCA Global Partners
In 1984 Howard co-founded CCA Global Partners, and has been its Chairman and co-Chief Executive for the past 37 years. During that time, he built the organization into an $12 billion company, one of the largest retail companies in America, and the fourteenth largest retail cooperative in the world. Howard has dedicated his life to building and sustaining family businesses across the country and around the world through the economic engine that is CCA Global Partners.
What surprises people the most about CCA Global and Howard is that while he is the co-founder, Chairman and co-CEO, he does not own a single share of the company. As a cooperative, CCA Global is owned by the members, the individual business owners operating their individual family businesses. The success of CCA Global Partners was never to be his singular success, but a force for good shared with all who are a part. Each member has a voice and the cooperative company has shared over $1 billion in profits back to its members.

Cooperatives for a Better World | Start.coop
Howard founded in 2015, and is chairman of, the nonprofit Cooperatives for a Better World (CFBW) to promote cooperatives around the globe. Today, Brodsky and the nonprofit lead a network of cooperative business leaders and influencers from different sectors of the economy and all corners of the world. Together they launched the first international marketing campaign for co-ops now adopted by 18 countries, translated into 8 languages, and reaching over half the world’s population.
